Two Australian lovebirds got married in May on the Snæfellsnes peninsula on a spectacular sunny and warm day. Lucky fellows! The day began in Hotel Budir (which must be one of the world’s most beautiful getaways spots), and the intimate wedding ceremony took place in the Budir church (which must be the world’s coziest church to elope and say “Yes!”). After an emotional and very personal ceremony and reading we headed out to the lava fields, to the cliffs of Arnarstapi and the black beach of Djúpalónssandur, to celebrate their marriage with a spectacular couple photo shoot. It was just us, the sun in our eyes, the sea wind in our hair and the cry of the puffins in our ears: perfection!
o the Búðakirkja nearby where the happy couple eloped with no guests but the wind and the sun and the cries of sea birds. For the rest of the day we just drove around along the Snæfellsnes shoreline to take pictures of the two in front of Iceland’s spectacular landscape, letting the ocean breeze play with the bride’s dress and hair.
Looking at the pictures now I can’t believe how lucky I am to go on adventures like this. Halldóra and Hobie: Thank you so much for having me!
