Back in May I flew to Iceland to be a Second Shooter for the awesome photographer team of Arctic Weddings Iceland. Little did I know how memorable this time would be: getting to work for these two wonderful humans who welcomed me so warm and friendly and shared their knowledge and experience with me while traveling all over Snæfellsnes, discovering the most beautiful places felt completely unreal at times. The two lovebirds, whose wedding we photographed, came all their way from Australia to get married in Iceland on a spectacular sunny and warm day. Lucky fellows! The day began in (what must be one of the world’s most beautiful getaways spots) Hotel Búðir, where the bride and groom were getting ready and the bride got into her wedding dress which she designed herself (!). Afterwards we all went to the Búðakirkja nearby where the happy couple eloped with no guests but the wind and the sun and the cries of sea birds. For the rest of the day we just drove around along the Snæfellsnes shoreline to take pictures of the two in front of Iceland’s spectacular landscape, letting the ocean breeze play with the bride’s dress and hair.
Looking at the pictures now I can’t believe how lucky I am to go on adventures like this. Halldóra and Hobie: Thank you so much for having me!

And now a big-shout out to Halldóra and Hobie for their kind hospitality, general awesomenes and great guidance …and Halldóra‘s mad rollerblading skills. Seriously, for a film sequence she was rollerblading backwards in front of the walking couple while holding a film camera. #shero
